"Rustic gourmet" is the way Chef Mark Schmidt describes Café 909; patrons who have found the restaurant worth a long trip to Marble Falls just call it delicious and start planning the next trip to a  little town that has suddenly become a Mecca for fine dining. The venue is attractive and "rustic urban" (there that word is again), and the food is formal even though the atmosphere is casual, and the service friendly and knowledgeable. Diners can choose from an imaginative group of starters, including golden borscht, Finnan haddie terrine and crisp veal sweetbread tartlet. Then they payoff comes  with a stunning array of entrees like iron seared redfish, skillet shepherds pie, and the chef's selection from fresh, purchased daily and wonderfully prepared seafood and meats. Always save room for  the sweet green tea créme brulee, old fashioned cherry tart, St. Arnold's root beer float and more. As an added plus for folks in the area Café 909 caters special events.
