For years Westlake office workers and families have been coming to Chinatown, a popular Chinese restaurant tucked away in a strip shopping mall off of Bee Caves Road. The small, tranquil restaurant specializes in Szechuan-style dishes such as Kung Po Chicken, pan fried vegetable dumplings and scallops coated in black bean sauce. Unless you've got a voracious appetite, plan on sharing or taking home a doggie bag because each entree easily serves two people. Chinatown is a lunchtime favorite among the office crowd thanks to lightening-fast service and daily lunch specials. At night, the restaurant teems with families - the kids eagerly awaiting the arrival of fortune cookies at the end of the meal. Service is spot on and the prices can't be beat. For diners who'd rather eat at home, Chinatown offers take-out service.
