Central Texas is home to a large number of exceptional hamburger joints, and Fran's has a prominent place on that list. In the 1800 block of South Congress, in the heart of trendy SoCo, the setting is  a large open room with scattered tables and a few booths, and you're advised to arrive early to order your regular, hickory, cheese or jalapeno burger, or a catfish sandwich.all with fries of course.  The children's menu features burgers, dogs and chicken strips, and kids of all ages will have a hard time passing up the "real" milk shakes and malts. Excuse me, my number just came up!
