This popular Tex-Mex cafe, President Clinton's favorite Austin hangout, hasn't changed a bit to fit into trendy South Congress. In fact, Guero's was cool long before coolness descended onto the rest of the street. The decor is "early warehouse," with high ceilings, chopped up rooms and a huge bar. There is live music, great margaritas, beer and chips with a variety of salsas.all the trappings to attract the downtown hip crowd. It works, because the place is crowded almost every day for lunch and dinner, and the weekends are sometimes a zoo. You'll find all your traditional Tex-Mex dishes, including tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, as well as some excellent soups and salads. President Clinton even has a dish named after him, El Presidente, that includes just about everything but the kitchen  sink. Now that SoCo has turned trendy, Guero's fits in even better.good food, drink, music, and even more people to watch.
