Hill Top Café is an interesting combination in the Hill Country, a delightful bed and breakfast, a café famous for its Cajun and Greek specialties, and one of Fredericksburg's best live music venues. Texas Monthly may argue that it's a "roadhouse, not a café," but owners Brenda and Johnny Nicholas have been pushing the right buttons for nearly twenty years. Southern Living says the "café is eaten up with eccentric atmosphere. The draw is, of course, the food. As varied as it is delicious, starters include gumbos, boudin, kefalatiri, escargot and Greek salads; fresh seafood includes shrimp,  crab, oysters and fish; and meats include venison, steaks, quail and souvlaki. A very good wine list includes local, California and international reds, whites and sparkling selections. Concerts and special events are a huge draw and often feature Hill Top's own Johnny Nicholas and the Texas All Stars.
