If, when you make your first visit to Hill's Café you feel like you've stepped back in time to the war era - World War II that is - you are correct. It dates back to the '40s and has seen a number of  resurrections. Well these days folks who regularly venture south of Ben White and extend the coolness of South Congress Avenue will tell you no more resurrections are needed. The eatery annually wins  Chronicle and other awards for its burgers and it has become a destination for far South Congress. Inside it looks like an old country café and outside is a quaint oak shaded patio. Beef is king, whether pattied or served as enormous cuts of steak. Side potatoes and veggies look and taste like your mother's, and the homemade desserts are to die for. Take a trip to the South side and see what we  mean!
