Hyde Park Bar and Grill is truly an Austin original. It is an institution in the Hyde Park neighborhood and an equally popular hang out for UT students and professors, neighbors and people from across  the metropolitan area. The restaurant features interesting art for sale by area artists, and satisfies its customers with exactly what they are looking for: well prepared comfort food, great service,  and reasonable prices. The grill is famous for its uniquely prepared French fries but offers a wide variety of soups and salads, sandwiches and entrees, and some very imaginative desserts. Won Kim's  peach pudding is as famous throughout the region as are the fries. The food is accompanied by a full bar. The good news is that a second location will soon be opening down South, near Central Market/Westgate.
