Jimmy John's was founded in Charleston, IL in 1983 to "add to students' GPA and general dating ability." That indicates that the franchisors like college communities, so it's no wonder they have three  great locations in Austin, on Congress Avenue, West MLK and Red River. As Jimmy says, "OK, so my subs really aren't gourmet and we're not French either. My subs just taste a little better, that's all!" Well try 'em, you'll like 'em. Choose from small subs, giant subs, or plain slims (no veggies or sauce). There's the Pepe, with applewood smoked ham and provolone cheese, the Sorry Charlie with California baby tuna, the Billy Club with roast beef, ham and provolone, the Beach Club with turkey breast, provolone, avocado and sprouts (see you CAN eat healthy subs). If you don't plan to eat for two days you even can tackle the J.J. Gargantuan, invented by Jimmy's brother Huey. Eat in, take out, or let J.J. cater your event.
