Burnet Road has become a Mecca for road construction and new eateries. The construction always makes it difficult for the restaurants, but one that deserves the support of neighbors and others from across the metro area is Sampaio's. Magna Sampaio has designed a beautiful and convenient destination that features wonderful Brazilian cuisine that is appealing to diners and bar flies alike. Authentic recipes are filling and handsomely prepared. The Estrogonofe Cremoso and the Frango com Macarrao share many similar ingredients but are miles apart in taste; the Estrogonofe is served over rice and the Frango over angel hair pasta and viva le difference! Both are excellent and are served piping hot, unusual for most Central Texas kitchens. And there are many intriguing choices: appetizers like marisco ao molho verde (clams in garlic and butter), fresh tabuli and salads, and a great selection of meat and seafood entrees. The outdoor patio already looks established, featuring colorful flowers and vines wrapped around an interesting collection of stone tables. Magna has gone the extra mile with her newest endeavor and it should pay off. As construction slows and Burnet Road becomes more and more "gentrified," it's clear that Sampaio's is here to stay!
