If you ever wax nostalgic for the gourmet pizza craze of the late 90's, you'll be ecstatic to know that Fireside Pies in the Knox-Henderson area serves up delicious, wood-fired pizza piled high with gourmet ingredients like goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes and cremini mushrooms. The cozy restaurant is the place to go for heavenly pizza in Dallas - just ask the throngs of people who wait patiently (sometimes for over an hour) for a taste of one of the pecan wood-fired pizzas bathed in a fire-roasted tomato sauce and topped with a "heavy handed" cheese blend (Mozzarella, Fontina, Fontinella and Parmesan Reggiano) and a variety of gourmet ingredients like chicken pesto sausage, white anchovies and roasted red peppers. If the wait is long, don't despair. A prickly pear margarita or Bellini-tini, a potent mixture of vodka, white peach nectar & Prosecco, will help make the wait pass quickly.
