Since 1977 Dallas' rich and famous have been coming to Javier's for authentic, upscale Mexican cuisine. Immensely popular, Javier's is always packed and reservations are a must - even on a Monday night. The cavernous restaurant features a series of intimate dining rooms decorated with Mexican-style artwork. Appetizer choices include cheese panela, a combination of grilled Monterey cheese mixed with Mexican sausage, garlic shrimp and smoked chicken nachos. Entrees include a variety of fish, meat and chicken dishes. House specials include the Pollo Ahumado, half of a mesquite-roasted chicken served Mexican style with guacamole, black beans, rice and hot sauce. The margaritas are sinfully good and the wine list is first-rate. Beer lovers will appreciate the wide selection of imported Mexican  beers.
