For over fifty years Dallasites have flocked to this simple, down home restaurant to get their fix of smoky baby back ribs, lean beef brisket, fried okra, cole slaw and fried pies. First Howard and Peggy's then Peggy's Beef Bar, the current owners renamed it Peggy Sue BBQ back in 1989 when they bought the place. Blue-collar workers and business moguls fill Peggy Sue's two dining rooms during lunchtime while families and college students make up most of the nighttime crowd. While the decor hasn't changed much over the decades, the menu has evolved to reflect the growing popularity of tex-mex food and healthy eating. Diners can order brisket or smoked chicken quesadillas, protein-packed pinto beans or fill-up on a variety of fresh greens and veggies from the expansive salad bar.
